This past Saturday, the staff at Aurora gathered for their much-anticipated yearly charity race day at Lingfield Racecourse. The 27th of July turned out to be a spectacular day, with bright sunshine and an atmosphere filled with camaraderie and goodwill.
A Day to Remember
Each year, our dedicated charity committee works tirelessly to organise a summer event that brings together staff from all our offices. This year was no exception, as colleagues from various locations converged at Lingfield Racecourse, creating an opportunity for everyone to connect beyond the confines of the workplace.
As the day progressed, the excitement was palpable. Staff members placed their bets on their favourite horses, adding a thrilling element of competition to the day’s festivities.
Supporting Worthy Causes
The heart of the event, however, lay in its noble cause. Proceeds from the ticket sales were dedicated to our chosen charities for the year: Neuroblastoma UK, which aids children in their brave fight against cancer, and Scotty’s Little Soldiers, providing support to bereaved children from military families in the UK. These charities hold special places in our hearts, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to these vital causes. This year the event raised £738 which will be split between the charities.
Evening Entertainment
As the sun began to set, the evening entertainment took centre stage. The cover band Supersonic Queen delighted the crowd with their renditions of classic hits, ensuring the festivities continued well into the evening.
Looking Ahead
While the race day was a resounding success, our commitment to charitable efforts continues. We are excited to announce the upcoming events we have in store: a pumpkin carving competition, a bake sale, and a Christmas quiz. These events promise to be just as engaging and impactful, furthering our mission to support those in need.
Thank you once again to all who attended and made the day unforgettable. Your participation and support are what make our charitable endeavours possible. Here’s to many more successful events and the positive change they bring.
