It’s been a busy old year of raising money for worthy causes, especially those that are close to our hearts, here at Aurora. Two of these charities are The Veteran’s Aid Fund and The Isabel Hospice in Hertfordshire, and we are continuing to raise money over the festive period.Aurora Printing Company
For Christmas, Aurora’s little elves, also known as our charity committee, have also been busy collecting preloved or unused items (books, clothing, toys, bric-a-brac etc) since October to be donated and sold throughout The Isabel Hospice charity shops. We have also been supporting their child bereavement support for families service for the last two years, by bringing smiles to kid’s faces with our Secret Santa collection, and this will now be our third year in a row. These kids are poorly and sometimes struggling in Hospices due to their own illnesses or that of their siblings or parents and these Christmas toys really brightens those families’ lives. We have also set up a Just Giving page for our employees to donate money, so we are able to buy bulk loads of toys, sensory toys and tablets for this most worthy charity.
As an extra incentive, our CEO, Andy Moffitt, has also announced that Aurora will match the amounts raised for Isabel Hospice! There’s still time to donate, just click here.
At our Hertford base we hosted a bake off and were proud to see everyone playing their part and mucking in. These efforts raised £360, and we raised a further £600, by hosting an away day at Hertford Newmarket Races, which was a fun day out for all. Our Victoria office on the same tone, also hosted a fun sporting event and held a Crazy Golf Night, appealing to many of the avid golfers within the company. These efforts were all in aid of the Veteran’s Fund Aid.
And as one final push towards the end of the year, we hosted our very own Christmas quiz, virtually and in-person across the whole of the organisation. All participants donated £5 to take part, and we raised a total of £565, which will also go towards The Veteran’s Aid Fund.
There are many more exciting charity events happening in the new year, and we will have an update on our efforts…so watch this space!
